Sweet Filthy Boy

OH MY GAAAWWWDDDD!

I should prolly leave it at that but WON’T cause I CAN’T!

Christina Lauren has DONE IT AGAIN!  Everything they write is fantastic!

Sweet Filthy Boy (Wild Seasons, #1)

“One-night stands are supposed to be with someone convenient, or wickedly persuasive, or regrettable. They aren’t supposed to be with someone like him.

But after a crazy Vegas weekend celebrating her college graduation—and terrified of the future path she knows is a cop-out—Mia Holland makes the wildest decision of her life: follow Ansel Guillaume—her sweet, filthy fling—to France for the summer and just…play.

When feelings begin to develop behind the provocative roles they take on, and their temporary masquerade adventures begin to feel real, Mia will have to decide if she belongs in the life she left because it was all wrong, or in the strange new one that seems worlds away” (good reads book bio).

SO! Ansel and Mia are an amazing couple that goes full throttle into feelings and chemistry.  They are almost a breath of fresh air at the raw power they have.  This book taught me a little something along the lines of staying-out-of-my-own-head.  How often do you over think and analyze which causes you to loose a moment that could have changed your life or even made you happy.  NOT TO MENTION WHO DOESN’T WANT TO GO TO FRANCE??!

Aside from the fun there were some special moments of not letting your past define and restrict your future.  It was a story of making your own decisions and love them.

This book made me laugh out loud A LOT which I love.  And it was just fun.

So GO AND READ IT! It will NOT disappoint. ALL OF THE CAPS!

Be on the look out for the next installment for some more foreign hunks in Dirty Rowdy Boy in November ’14 (yes that is too long to wait).

Giving In

So sorry about the long wait between posts.  Been a lil busy.  But more importantly I have finished another new release and am dying to share.

“Kylie sees the way Jensen looks at her. The dark promise in his eyes. That rough edge of dominance she knows he possesses. But dominance is the one thing that frightens her above all else. She and her brother barely survived a childhood steeped in violence and abuse. She could never give up total control and submit to a man. Especially a man like Jensen. Could she? Jensen sees the shadows in Kylie’s eyes. Knows he has to tread very carefully or risk losing any chance he has with her. All he wants is the opportunity to show her that dominance doesn’t equal pain, bondage or discipline. That emotional surrender is the most powerful of all, and that to submit—fully to him—will fulfill the aching void in her heart in a way nothing else ever will” (book bio from Banks website)

Giving In is number two in Maya Banks Surrender Trilogy.  And like the first, Letting Go, Banks has stepped a small ways away from her original hot, steamy work and given her readers a new level of Romance that is heavily emotional but of course mixed with some steaminess.

Some things that I have “learned” from Jensen and Kylie are: self worth and love, you can’t really choose who you love, emotional vulnerability, and your past does not own you, you control how you live it.

Jensen and Kylie both struggle with hard pasts that seems to never really stay in the past.  Banks does a great job of her characters learning self worth and love.  Similar to my final “learning point” this challenge that Kylie and Jensen cross teaches them that there past should not own them.

Along with new love there is always emotional vulnerability due to new people coming together. Banks does a great job of explaining that you can’t honestly choose who you love.  Feelings happen.  You can have some influence on how your feelings develop but there seems to be some other force that has a mind of its own.

SO! If you get a chance better yet just go buy it and read it for yourself because Banks is on a role.  Be on the look out for Taking It All coming in August of 2014.
